Set directly on the sand within the gates of Malibu Colony, this residence was reimagined in 2021 by a team obsessed with light. Walls of glass fold away entirely, dissolving the line between the great room and the Pacific beyond. Wide-plank white oak, hand-troweled plaster, and quarter-sawn walnut millwork carry the material language from room to room without a single false note.
Every principal space was oriented toward the water — the kitchen, the primary suite, the sunken lounge with its fireplace of book-matched stone. At dusk, the entire western face of the home turns to amber and gold, and the sound of the surf becomes the house's ambient soundtrack. This is not a home near the beach. It is a home the beach runs through.
